A South end Walking Tour website
View the Seattle Walk site
Recently I was given the task of detailing a Seattle walking tour.
An assignment like this brings a universe of possibilities, and discipline is important. How do you avoid overwhelming the viewer?
The collapsible tabs on the right contain a series of short, evocative blurbs about the sites visited along the way. Some are big-picture highlights: Lake Washington was created by a glacier; did you know? Others are small-scale details, as for example the fact that Genesee Park features a Small and Shy Dog Area.
A selective, slightly idiosyncratic approach such as this can help capture the essence of a place while still covering a lot of ground — both literally and figuratively.
